The Chinese Super League (CSL) has seen its first ever title race clash as two top teams, Sanzhen and Tianjin Teda, go head-to-head in the opening match of the season.
Sanzhen, who were crowned champions last year, looked to be in control early on, with their forward line causing problems for the opposition defence. However, Tianjin responded well and managed to equalize before half-time.
The second half saw both sides pushing hard for a winner, but it was Sanzhen who eventually emerged victorious. Their midfield players played some outstanding football, creating chances for their forwards to score.
Tianjin will now have to work hard to keep up with Sanzhen's pace, while the latter team looks set to dominate the league this season. The CSL is expected to be a competitive and exciting competition, with many more thrilling matches still to come.
